I was in Hamilton for a course, I live over an hour away. I noticed my tire was flat, I had no spare and no one was able to bring me a spare or help me get back home. I found Arnels on google maps just around the corner and explained my situation to the lady at the desk, she immediately jumped into action and assured me they could replace or fix my tire same day. It was fast, it was affordable and it was definitely the best experience I have ever had. If it wasn't for Arnels I would have been sleeping in my car aswell as paying around a thousand for a tow. I am beyond grateful!

Anyone who has a headlight or tail light fail knows how inconvenient it can be with weeklong waitlists at local garages. Arnel Service Centre came to my rescue with a same day service. Just let them know it's just a bulb and they will fix it and have you on your way in no time at all.

I called & talked to Sarah who was very helpful as I hadn't made an appointment & she managed to squeeze my vehicle in for a wof & a couple of minor issues that needed sorting. Later in the afternoon I received a call from Sarah telling me my car was all ready to go. When I picked up my car all the work done was clearly detailed & itemised so I left with no worries & happy with their workmanship & service. I would definitely recommend Arnel Service Centre.

Unreliable and unprofessional service. Being a visitor to New Zealand and not knowing any local services I picked Arnell Service Centre from the reviews online and visiting the workshop to have a chat to Tony the owner. Needed to service my daughter’s car that I was using. She moved here recently and had not used a garage in Hamilton. The first standard service went okay in November. I was then advised in writing on the invoice that the next 100K service needed more work done with a list of items. So when we returned from a trip around New Zealand having clocked 10K I booked it in with a couple of days’ notice for the 100K service on Thursday 13th Feb. At the time I told Tony we were going away for the weekend the next day and I was also leaving New Zealand on the Monday after (17th Feb) so I wanted to get it done for my daughter before we left as she was overseas. Took it in early at 7.30 am and didn’t plan anything else for the rest of the day as I knew it was a major service. Waited for the call to say when it was ready which never came. Finally I rang at 5 pm to inquire and was told it was ready for pickup. When I got there the lady at the desk informs me that the spark plugs need to be changed at the earliest opportunity adding that they were too busy in the workshop that day to do it. When I got home and looked at the invoice for the previous service and what was listed to be done for a 100K service I was stunned to see that none of the extra work listed had been done. This included replacement of the air filter and spark plugs as well as the automatic transmission service. I rang Tony quite annoyed having left the car in his care all day and not even having had the courtesy of a call to say all the work listed could not be done or even when it was ready for pick up. He apologized saying he had let me down and he wasn’t in the workshop that day and it probably didn’t get on the job list. It was just a standard service in the end but when I looked at the labour cost it had risen from $ 80 to $ 95 almost a 20% increase in 3 months. When I queried this with the lady at the desk she said it was because they now calculated the GST differently! She then printed me another invoice for the last service done in November 2019 which then showed the labour cost increased to $ 92 (from the previous $ 80) with the total cost remaining the same! I took her word for this strange adjustment but overall I had lost trust and confidence in Arnell’s Motors so have advised my daughter not to return. Also there were some nice touches at the first service such as tyre black, some polish on the console and washer water with soap. None of that happened on the second service either. Very disappointing especially when you believe you’ve found a good place to service your vehicle and then find otherwise.

Arriving unknown and unannounced at Arnel Service, I was very impressed with immediate attention of Tony Arnel himself. An immediate preliminary diagnosis; and the fact that I was able to have my van accepted for service there and then without any prior appointment for service - was excellent. That the following day - the cause having been found - a call to myself re costs having been cleared with me - I was able to collect the van with full engine repair - that afternoon - was an absolute godsend! Congrats Arnel!

Excellent service, a really well run business. The real point of difference is when Tony and the team send you images of the problem is thats going on with your car/truck/electric vehicle. From there you get a range of options to select from. The first place I have ever taken my vehicles and had this sort of service. You really feel well looked after. They also are happy to drop you to work and drop your car back to you.

We have used Arnel services for many many years , way back when it was owned by Tony's father George. Both Tony and George are intelligent knowledgeable professionals when it comes to cars. Partner took a vehicle there and I was certainly surprised to be told we needed new brake pads to pass the warrant. Expensive quote for replacing these, I then took the car elsewhere who advised that the brakes were sweet and working at 80% efficiency (50% is warrantable). Won’t trust these guys again that’s for sure!

For the past 18 months I have had all my vehicles serviced with Arnels. The service has been professional friendly and I love that I do not have to wait for days to book in and when they inform me of how long the service will take my cars have always been ready at the time they state. Several months ago I had to undertake a very big repair to my commercial van and Arnels kept in touch with me through every step of the major repair, they also helped me keep costs down and provided professional advice for the parts required... I love that I did not have to sacrifice quality parts to save on costs ! these guys know how to source great deals! I highly recommend Arnel service centre they have a central location that is easily accessible with parking.

I had taken my vehicle to another garage in town for clutch repair. They indicated that I needed a new clutch plate. Took it to the people at Arnel and they did a couple of adjustments and the van is running great saved big dollars. Nice to have honest and fair business people who you can trust they will be getting all of my work from now on. Well done keep up the awesome customer service.
